BEATLES – Day By Day – 9/14/61

Thursday, 14th September, 1961

The Beatles perform at the Town Hall in Litherland. The gig is also announced in today’s issue of Mersey Beat which proclaims that The Beatles will perfom at the venue “every Thursday.”

This week’s issue of Mersey Beat (cover dated September 14-28) also includes a column entitled “Around and About” written by “Beatcomber,” in reality John Lennon. This would be the first of a series of occasional articles by John under the “Beatcomber” name.
