During its second week on the UK pop charts, Love Me Do climbed three spots to #46.
As could be expected the previous day’s issue of Mersey Beat had placed Love Me Do at the #1 poistion on its list of “Merseyside Tops.”

With no engagements booked, The Beatles celebrated John Lennon’s 22nd Birthday by staying over in London visiting freelance music journalists and several pop music papers to promote teh release of Love Me Do.

The Beatles spent th afternoon at Dawson’s Music Shop in the nearby town of Widnes signing copies of the newly released “Love Me Do.”
From there they went on to Hulme Hall in Port Sunlight for an evening gig promoted by the local Horticultural Society.
