BEATLES – Day By Day – 6/11/62

Monday, 11 June, 1962

The Beatles returned to the Playhouse Theater in Manchester for their second recording session for the BBC Light Radio show “Teenager’s Turn – Here We Go.”

Rehearsal started at 4:00pm with the show taping running between 8:45pm and 9:00pm. The Beatles perfomed standards “Besame Mucho,”  and “A Picture of You” as well as the Lennon & McCartney composition “Ask Me Why.”

This session will be the last official recording to feature Pete Best on drums. It will also be the only time that “A Picture Of You” will be recorded. It also marks the first time that George takes the lead on a song during a recording session.
