BEATLES – Day By Day – 3/2/62

Friday, 2nd March, 1962

The Beatles reverted to the jive hall circuit they had recently left behind with a one-off gig at the St. John’s Hall in Bootle for young promoter Dave Foreshaw. Foreshaw’s diary for the day shows that he paid The Beatles 17 Pounds along with 6 Pounds to support act The Searchers. After the rest of his expenses the paid attendance of 357 people resulted in an 11 Pound profit for the night.

Later in the evening they took another trip across the Mersey for another Sam Leach promotion at the Tower Ballroom in New Brighton. This event was billed as a “Mad March Rock Ball.”
