Paul singing “In Liverpool” from his Liverpool Oratorio. I believe this segment was filmed at the Liverpool Insitute where he and George went to shool. Many of these shots bought back a flood of memories of my own childhood in and around the Manchester & Liverpool area. Wonderful stuff.

He’s actually performing it live in the Assembly Hall of the then partly demolished Innie. Something he never got to do when he was at school there.
It’s the highlight, and closing, of the documentary “Echoes” where he wanders around the inside of the building in 1988, describing everything and reminiscing about the teachers, pranks etc. His memories really comes flooding back.
It was this visit that inspired him to start up the LIPA project. It’s on the second disc of the double DVD Liverpool Oratorio released in 2004. It can be difficult to get a copy now, but it’s centrainly worth the effort!
