Paul Tops Signature Charts
According to a report on the Digital Spy website, Paul McCartney’s signature is now the most valuable among collectors of celebrity autographs.
According to the report the former Beatle’s signature, worth £125 in 1997, has since taken an incredible 900 per cent price-hike and is now valued at £1,250. Fraser’s Autograph Gallery began tracking an index of 100 personalities in 1997. It has shown an overall rise of 204 per cent, with many names increasing by significantly more.
Chairman Paul Fraser said Sir Paul’s secret was a steady reduction in the supply of his signature. “It’s about scarcity,” he explained. “McCartney used to sign a lot more than he does now, but the demand for all The Beatles is still very high, which is why his signature has risen so much.
