Mendips & Forthlin Road Tour

The British National Trust is now offering a special mini-bus tour that combines visits to Paul and John’s childhood homes in Liverpool.

Mendips was the house where John Lennon was raised by his Aunt Mimi and was his home during the Quarry Men days until he moved into an apartment shared with Stuart Sutcliffe in late 1959. It has often been recounted how John was often banished to play in the porch at the front of the house as he struggled to learn the guitar.

20 Forthlin Road was the McCartney home at the time that Paul first came to know John and it was here that many early “rehearsals” were conducted and that Paul composed many of his classic songs, including “When I’m 64.”

Both homes are only accessible via the tour which can be booked on-line.
