BEATLES – Day By Day – 8/31/62

The Beatles headed to the South West for another couple of gigs for the JayBee organization. This Friday night engagement was at the Town Hall , at the junction of High Street and Church Road, in the small market town of Lydney in Gloucestershire (180 miles from Liverpool).
During the early part of the 1990s I lived in a village not far from Lydney, and was amazed, once I found out about this gig, that The Beatles, even at this early stage, had played such a small venue in what was at that time a fairly remote location in the Forest of Dean on the border between England and Wales. Even 30 years after the event it wasn’t difficult to find people in town who still recalled The Fab Four’s visit.
