At some point this week, while still continuing to fulfill their gig at the Star-Club in Hamburg, The Beatles completed another recording session with producer Bert Kaempfert. The session was in effect a “buy out” with Kaempfert insisting on recording two more songs as condition of him agreeing to Brian Epstein’s request to terminate his contract with The Beatles earlier than the 30 June expiration date.
The exact date and venue for this session is unknown as the group once again found themselves backing Tony Sheridan. The tracks recorded at this session may have been “Sweet Georgia Brown” and “Swanee River” (as reported in Mersey Beat), or “Skinny Minny” (as reported by Pete Best in his biography.)
