BEATLES Day By Day 2/9/61
Thursday, February 9th, 1961
The Beatles make their debut at The Cavern Club on Matthew Street in Liverpool. Although John, Paul and George had played there before in various incarnations of The Quarry Men, this was the first time they appeared at the club under the name “THE BEATLES.” The appearance was an unadvertised lunch time gig and they played on a temporary stage for a fee of 5 pounds.
