BEATLES – Day By Day – 10/9/63

Wednesday, 9 October, 1963

The Beatles tape an appearance on the BBC radio comedy program, “The Ken Dodd Show” at the BBC Paris Studios in London. Although The Beatles knew fellow Liverpudlian Dodd (having appeared at one of his local charity shows two years ago), they didn’t participate in any of the comedian’s sketches. The only contribution the Fab Four made to this radio show was to record “She Loves You” in front of the studio audience. The show would be broadcast on November 3, ironically preceding the serious talk-radio show The Public Ear, which included a segment dedicated to Mersey Beat and the rise of The Beatles.
