Beatles Catalog CD Reissue This Year?
Along with the continuing iTunes speculation comes hints that the complete series of Beatles albums may be reissued on CD this year, and that the new versions could be in stores as early as March.
Other sources state that the CD reissue will start in June when a new “dual” version of Sgt. Pepper may be released to coincide with the albums 40th Anniversary. The “dual” version is rumored to feature both the original mono recordings plus new digitally mastered 24 bit stero versions of the album’s tracks.
It is assumed that other album releases will follow, but no word on if these will be digitally remastered, even though it would seem a logical move if the tracks are being prepared for digital downloading too.
