Thursday, 10th January, 1963 The Beatles play their first home town gig of the new year at the Grafton Rooms in the center of Liverpool. The Beatles headline a five-act show in front of a capacity crowd which sets new attendance records for the venue.

Tuesday, 8th January, 1963 The Beatles stayed north of the border at the conclusion of their Scottish tour to appear on the Scottish TV children’s programme Roundup. The show was braodcast live fron the Theatre Royal on Hope Street in Glasgow between 5:00 and 5:55pm with the Fab Four lip-synching to “Please, Please Me.”

Sunday, 6th January, 1963 The Beatles completed their first headlining tour with a performance at the Beach Ballroom on Sea Beach in Aberdeen, Scotland.

NME.com reports that Eric Clapton, Pete Townsend and Ringo Starr teamed up to play a New Year’s Eve gig together. Apparently the trio sold tickets to the gig, at an unnamed location, for under £50 each, with proceeds going to charity.
