Over the weekend writer Simon Hoggart wrote a piece in the UK’s Guardian newspaper about seeing the original Quarrymen play during a launch party for Beatle’s biographer Hunter Davies’s new memoirs, “Beatles, Football & Me.”

Hoggart sums up the performance with “and very good they were too. In my view you can’t hear Freight Train too often.“
