Not Everyone Appreciated The Love
According to this report on the United Press website – Officials at the BBC did not inform the Beatles about a series of protests regarding the group’s inclusion in the famed “Our World” satellite program where they performed “All You Need Is Love.”Recently released BBC documents show the Beatles were unaware the group’s appearance on the first live global satellite transmission as a representative for Britain had been criticized by many. Those documents, released under the Freedom of Information Act, indicate many people considered the Beatles unworthy of being Britain’s representative in the June 25, 1967 braodcast, when compared with other nations’ offerings.
