Lennon Art Comes Together in Houston
The Houston Chronicle reports that more than 100 pieces, a few of which were only recently unearthed, will be included in Come Together: The Artwork of John Lennon, a three-day exhibit at the Houston Galleria starting tomorrow (October 26th)

The pieces will mostly include Lennon’s iconic pen and ink drawings, sometimes with dappled spots of color; “minimalist,” as Yoko Ono calls them.”He did some oil paintings way back,” she said in the report. “Pretty large stuff. But I don’t know where they are anymore. I’m fairly certain I don’t have them. They just got lost in the course of life.”
Among the items are lithographs from Lennon’s Bag-One Suite in 1970, some drawings from the ’60s and some limited-edition reproductions signed by Ono.
If I get the time this weekend, I may take the trip over to Houston to check this exhibit out.

Re: Artwork of John Lennon at Galleria Oct 26-28, 2007
Dear Mr. Hoffman:
The so-called “Artwork of John Lennon” exhibit opening at the Galleria next week is Yoko Ono’s $100 million dollar -FRAUD-.
There are usually only 3 to 4 possible John Lennon “drawings” used as bait, the rest of the exhibit offers non-disclosed black-and-white reproduction/posters and cut-pasted-colorized -FAKES- posthumously reproduced with counterfeit John Lennon chop-mark signatures applied to created the illusion the John Lennon created them, much less approved them even though he was dead at the time.
Therefore, you will understand my interest in the Houston Chronicle’s published October 16, 2007 “Eyeglass deal a real spectacle” column by you. In part, in your column, you wrote: “The John Lennon Art Show will return Oct. 26-28 to the Galleria — second floor next to Borders.”
Every couple years like locust, Yoko Ono and her business associates Legacy Fine Art Productions Inc, out of West Palm Beach, Florida, come around the Houston area to rip-off -again- the public for hundreds to thousands of dollars each by selling these non-disclosed posthumous black-and-white reproductions and cut-pasted-colorized -FAKES-, all with counterfeit John Lennon chop-mark/signatures applied.
Respectfully, every time this so-called “Artwork of John Lennon” exhibit comes to Houston since 1997 (see chronology below), you have written about it and encouraged the public to attend. In the last two yearly venues in 2003 and 2005, you were fully informed by this scholar about these contentious issues of authenticity and yet you continued to promote this exhibit in your columns.
Unfortunately, for the public, there is -no- art by John Lennon in this so-called “John Lennon Art Show” (with 3 to 4 possible exceptions as noted used as bait).
For documentation to these contentious issues of authenticity, please link to the following:

Note: See text copies below of prior published articles for reference.
Finally, I hope for the sake of the Houston Chronicle readers and surrounding communities, your newspaper and you and/or your colleagues will consider publishing both sides of these contentious issues of authenticity so the consumer potentially may be able to give informed consent on whether to attend this exhibit, much less purchase anything.
In closing, doesn’t the public deserve that at a minimum for the first time in the ten years history of this non-disclosed Artwork of John Lennon -FRAUD- coming to Houston?
Let me know how else I may assist you in writing such an article.
Sincerely,
Gary Arseneau
