Idol Thoughts
So own up, who else watched last nights’ edition of American Idol with a mix of fear and curiosity? Idol hopeful’s being let lose on the Lennon & McCartney songbook – a few years ago the very thought of it would have made me shudder. But this year it seemed that the Idol Top 12 contains a few really good singers who know how to perform.
 By the end of the show I thought it was pretty evenly split between four really good perfomances, four mediocre ones, three bad ones and one “so bad it’s painful to watch” (the countrified “Eight Days A Week” travesty.)
My personal top two were Carly Smithson’s “Come Together“
 and David Cook’s “Eleanor Rigby.”
