John, Paul and George fly from London to Paris in prepeartion for their upcoming season at the Olympia Theatre.

Before the Beatles performed two more houses of The Beatles Christmas Show at the Astoria Cinema in Finsbury Park, George and Ringo taped a segment for the BBC radio show The Public Ear.

The segment took the form of an audio letter encouraging listeners to listen to the American R&B artists that had influenced the Beatles themselves and was broadcast on the 12th January.

After almost nine months of continuous touring, TV and radio appearances, as well as recording sessions, the Beatles took a much needed vacation. John flew to Paris with his wife Cynthia, where they were joined by Brian Epstein. George and his brother Peter flew to the USA to visit their sister Louise. Paul and Ringo headed off together for a break in Greece. They would be out of the country until October 2nd.

George Harrison serves as a judge for the Lancashire and Cheshire Beat Group Contest, held in Liverpool.

According to Autoweek  a platinum-colored Aston Martin DB5 once owned by the late George Harrison is expected to fetch $250,000 to $300,000 when it crosses the auction block in London late this month.

The car was built in 1964 and delivered to then-Beatle Harrison on Jan. 1, 1965, according to RM Auctions Inc., which is holding the Oct. 30 and 31 sale in partnership with Sotheby’s.

The car is unrestored, according to RM. After Harrison, a Tokyo museum owned the Aston. Then it was bought in 1997 and shipped to Germany, the auction company said.

The Beatles played a night time gig at The Cavern. This was Ringo’s first appearence at The Cavern as a member of The Beatles, and the Pete Best fans weren’t happy about it. As the group entered the club a fight broke out with some of Pete’s supporters and George Harrison recieved a black eye.

Also the fact that I Saw Here Standing There was the first Beatles songs I tried to learn on the bass means it has a special place on my personal Beatles playlist.

The Beatles Story museum and attraction located on the historic Albert Docks in Liverpool has announced that it will be doubling in size.It is also planning to improve visitor facilities as part of the £1m plus investment.

The new exhibition space will be created in the basement adjacent to the venue which is currently vacant.  The management is confident that the new facilities will be ready for the start of Liverpool 08.  The new attractions will include rooms celebrating the solo careers of George Harrison and Ringo Starr, space for temporary exhibitions and a “hands-on” interactive children’s learning centre
