The Beatles start the day in London attending a recording session for The Fourmost who are recording the Lennon & McCartney song “Hello Little Girl.”

After the recording session they return to the South West for the third gig at the Odeon cinema in Weston.

Last Friday evening I was lucky enough to host a private house concert featuring the two lead guitarists from the excellent Beatles tribute band Daytripper in an “un-plugged” session. The showÂ was two hours of great Beatles songsÂ and chat about the Fab Four’s music.

Here’s a short video I shot of them perfoming my wife’s favorite Beatles track – “Dear Prudence.”

Elvis covers Yesterday during rehersals in 1970. That lyric – “I’m not half the man I used to be,” never seemed more appropriate.

Last week’s posting of the Whitesnake cover ofÂ Day TripperÂ sent me on a search for other artists covering Beatles songs. Most of what I found ranged from simply bad to stunningly awful. Some of it was good. And then there were the few truly brilliant interpretations…

Topping that laterÂ list was this stunning performance of Come Together by Tina Turner.
