BEATLES – Day By Day – 8/27/63

Tuesday, 27 August, 1963

As well as playing two shows a night this week, The Beatles were also traveling between Southport, Liverpool and Manchester to participate in the filming of a BBC TV documentary about the Mersey Beat boom.

The first filming took place at 9:30am with the group playing on stage at a smaller Southport venue (the aptly named Little Theater) without an audience. The performance was later intercut with hysterical audience reaction shots from the previous night’s gig at the Odeon.

Once the day’s filming was complete it was back to the Odeon for two more shows.
