BEATLES – Day By Day – 8/17/61
Thursday 17th August, 1961
The first Beatles fan letters appeared in today’s issue of Mersey Beat which also included a poem by John Lennon entitled “I Remember Arnold.”
The boys themselves played an evening gig at the St. John’s Hall in Tuebrook, also on the bill were the Big Three.
For this night only The Beatles were once again a five piece as the Big Three’s bass player, Johnny Gustafson ,joined them, leaving Paul free to move around the stage and into the audience while singing lead.
