The Beatles headlined the Heswell Jazz Club promotion at the Barnston Women’s Institute, on Barnston Road in the town of Heswell on the Wirral Peninsula across the River Mersey from Liverpool.
According to the event’s poster this was promoted as “An All Star Event,” even though the live acts consisted of “Meryside’s Joy” The Fabulous BEATLES, and The Big Three. The rest of teh evening’s music was supplied from a selection of “Current Top 20 Records.” Tickets were 7/6 each and the doors opened at 7:30pm. The poster also said that there would be no admission after 9:45pm, so it is fair to assume that this would be about the time that the live acts took to the stage.
