BEATLES Day By Day – 6/25/61

The Beatles started the last week of their extended thirteen week engagement at the Top Ten Club in Hamburg.

According to the page from the club’s pay book shown below their weekly pay was around 215DM ($135) each for performing around 50 hours of live music a week.

This particular pay reciept from the Top Ten (dating from the week of April 15th to 21st 1961)  lists all five Beatles in the following order: George Harrison, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Stuart Sutcliffe and Peter Best, and giving details of their matching salaries: 7 Jage a 35 = DM 245 (7 days at 35 deutsch marks) less tax, giving a total per week for each of DM 215. Each has signed against their own entry. Also listed is singer Tony Sheridan, who was also appearing at the Top Ten Club.
