BEATLES - Day By Day - 5/9/62

Monday, 9th May, 1962

While The Beatles were in Hamburg, Brian Epstein returned to London to follow up on his earlier, February, meetings with George Martin. The two meet at Abbey Road where Martin agrees to setting up an audition for The Beatles with EMI/Parlaphone in early June after their return from Hamburg.

Brian Epstein wires The Beatles in Hamburg with news of the audition, and in a show of supreme confidence wires Mersey Beat the “news” that The Beatles have secured a recording contract with EMI.

    Hi,
    Just wanted to give you a heads up in case you or anyone in your network is looking for a mint copy of LET IT BE Laserdisc 4508-80. I have a gorgeous one up on eBay. Auction ends mid day Monday.
    It’s a rare one so I thought I should make the effort to get the word out. Hope you don’t mind!
