The Beatles started the evening with a gig at the El Rio Dance Hall on Queen Victoria St, in the Cheshire town of Macclesfield, where they were supported by local group Wayne Fontana & The Jets.
They then drive the 21 miles to Stoke-on-Trent for a gig at the King’s Hall on Glebe St. Backstage at the Stoke gig John and Paul start work on writing “Misery.” During this gig they also perform of Walk Right In for the one and only time in their career.Â
For the second day in sucession The Beatles are heard on BBC radio when their January 22nd recording for The Saturday Club airs.
