The Beatles performed a lunch time gig at The Cavern before driving the 35 miles over to Manchester to appear on the Granada TV show People & Places.
The live show was broadcast from Studio Four of Granada’s complex at Quay Street in Manchester. The Beatles rehearsed between 3:00and 4:00pm and again between 4:15 and 6:00.
The show was aired live in the north-western area of England covered by the Granada TV franchise between 6:35 and 7:00pm. This was The Beatles first televison appearance. They performed “Some Other Guy,” and their single “Love Me Do.” (No recording of this performance is known to have survived)
After their TV debut they drove back to Liverpool to round off the day with a night time engagement at The Cavern, where they were joined on the bill by The Big Three and Group One.
