Abbey Road Photographer Passes Away
According to a report posted on the What Goes On Beatles News site, Beatles’ long time friend and photographer, Iain Macmillan, has passed away after battling cancer. He died Sunday morning in Scotland. Iain Macmillan created the photograph for the Beatles Abbey Road album, possibly the most famous and most often copied rock album cover ever. Iain later worked with John and Yoko and took the “merging heads” photos on the label for “Happy Christmas, War is Over”. He also revisited Abbey Road with Paul McCartney to create the cover for his “Paul is Live” album.
